![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Come Dying Light 2 you'd think they would advance everything that made the previous game so popular(a bit after release ) ) but no they tripled down on an expansive story, took away the tension from the gameplay, made the parkour floaty and less engaging, essentially got rid of night time, scaled back zombie physics to focus on Human on Human action and released a gladiator DLC that doubled down on human on human combat. ![]() Here are a few examples that are in my opinion happening right before our eyesÄying Light 2: In the OG Dying Light people loved the parkour, horror survival, aspects with amazing zombie physics, atmospheric night time gameplay, phenomenal coop fun, a generally great open world sandbox and one of the best DLC's Ive ever played. Both these games did the same thing took Horror based franchises and rammed action down peoples throat in an attempt to broaden their audience, completely misunderstanding what made them have an audience to begin with. Resident Evil 6 had a similar fate to Dead Space 3 leading to the revitalization in the mainline games with RE7(and essentially revitalization of AAA Horror). Then I was like how often does this happen? Hit new franchise or hit existing franchise going down so hard they just immediately disappear or have a slow burn death or forcing a soft or full reboot. So Dead Space is back and its amazing but it got me thinking, damn they dun fucked up with Dead Space 3 they fucked up so hard that it started the studio down a path that would lead them to be closed and just to think what could have happened had they stayed the right path. ![]()
